anemoia: nostalgia for a time you've never known
I'm Aubry, a Portland-based concert photographer documenting today's music scene exclusively on 35mm film and Hi8 video. I create images that feel timeless, tactile, and nostalgic—capturing not just the performance itself, but the atmosphere, energy, and connection that make live music unforgettable.
I've always been drawn to the spirit of old-school rock 'n' roll. Growing up, my walls were covered with Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith posters while the sounds of the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers blasted through my headphones. The grit, freedom, and larger-than-life presence of the '60s and '70s rock n' roll scene continue to shape the way I see today's artists. My goal is to create photographs that feel like they could have been pulled from the pages of a vintage Rolling Stone magazine while remaining unmistakably modern.
Whether I'm documenting an intimate club show or a weekend-long festival, I approach every performance with the same goal: to create authentic, enduring images that celebrate the artists, the audience, and the community that brings live music to life.
